First game Aug 29 · 9:00 vs U-2 Game day

Opening Day is simple on purpose.

Arrive 8:40. Warm up together. Everyone serves. Everyone plays front row. Get the serve in. Call MINE. Cheer. That is a great first game.

Night before

  • Confirm time, court, opponent
  • Text families: jersey, black shorts/skort, water, 20 min early
  • Who is buying the $2 concession tickets
  • Write a serve order — everyone serves

Uniform

Jersey only this season

Rec issues the jersey. Girls wear their own black athletic shorts or skort. Hair tied. No jewelry. Kneepads if they have them.

Picture day — Saturday Sep 12

Pictures 10:40 am by the pond (gym if rain). Game vs U-3 at 11:00. Arrive 10:25. Package already paid: memory mate + magnet.

Jobs, not positions

        NET
  4 3 2
  5 6 1 ← SERVER

Clockwise after you win the serve:
4 → 3 → 2 → 1 → 6 → 5 → 4

Front row sends it over. Back row takes first contact. Server is spot 1. Confirm 4v4 vs 6v6 from the player packet before you teach this on August 28.

Timeout (30 seconds)

  1. Water.
  2. One thing to keep doing.
  3. One thing to change — “call mine” / “serve in” / “send it up.”
  4. Hands in. Play.

Playing time

Even minutes. Everyone serves. Everyone plays front row. Skill can change role, not minutes. If a parent asks why their daughter isn’t “the setter”: at this age everyone learns every job.
