Watch, then copy the cue Drills

Drills you will actually run.

Each block is one of our drills, the one cue to say, and a short video that shows the skill — not a 40-minute clinic. Watch these on the couch. On the court, demo for 15–20 seconds and start.

Ready position

Practice 1 · 5:28 and 5:35

Ready freeze tag + Mirror

Cue: Feet wide. Knees bent. Hands in front.

Tagged players freeze in ready until a teammate high-fives them. Then pairs face each other and one leads shuffles for 30 seconds.

There is no famous “freeze tag” clip. Watch the ready stance in the passing videos — that low base is the whole point of the game.

Forearm pass

Practice 1 · 5:43 · 12 minutes

Catch on platform → toss-pass-catch → over a line

Cue: Straight arms. Platform to the target.

Do not teach angle of platform or “pass to the setter” yet. If she cannot pass, she catches on her arms. If she is already good, toss her a step left or right.

Underhand serve

Practice 1 · 5:55 · 12 minutes

Short-line serve + step rule

Cue: Hold. Step. Swing through.

Start 10–15 feet from the net. Two in a row = step back. Two misses = step in. That one rule keeps mixed skill from becoming two practices.
